After meeting we hope to go out and visit new people in the community or people who were missed last year. Members, please try to attend so that no one will have to be missed this year. This experiment last year proved to be enjoyable for all concerned. We are requested by the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs to draw your attention to the approaching privilege of giving a donation of your blood on Oct. 4 in the United Church Hall in Port Perry 1:30 -- 4:30 or 8:30 -- 3:30 p.m. Last week Mrs. Amy Smith and Mrs. Reta Wilson enjoyed 2 or 3 days in the Adirondacks. Unfortunately Jim Wilson had to spent a few days in hospital again. Tim Ashbridge will soon enter hospital for explor- atory repairs to a knee that locks at very 'inconvenient times. We trust Jerry Taylor Jr. now has a perfect elbow after surgery upon it. On Friday evening the So retirement and congratula- tory party for Rev. and Mrs. Preston Brown at "Grace" church was attended by approx. 60 people who enjoyed a social time with games, singing and contests. Mrs. Bill Lamb read an address and Mrs. Burnsell Webster presented the honoured guests with a decorator mantel clock on behalf of the Scugog Pastoral charge. Mr. and Mrs. Brown both expressed their appreciation and ladies of the charge served a delicious light lunch.
