Legion Pee Wee's win community BOWLS Marmora tournament Mike HealeyBity Owen his --HighPripter Inthe strange-and-magie of ice. hockey, there is nothing quite so wonderful as the spectable which pairs two teams against each other of equal talent. to wind up a championship iourna- ment game. But whenever and where- ever played the classic will possess an almost mystical allure. For those fans or parents who traveled with the team to Marmora were a happy lot. When it was all over, these people gave these kids, the desire and motivation that they needed, to play the way they did. Billy Owen picked up a hat trick in leading the Legion kids to a 9 - 1 win over Wellington. Mike Healey, Peter Lane, Scot Wilbur, Marke Lee, Denis Franssen and Mike Hamilton all helped in scoring the nine goals. Four Players in all each scored a goal in winning over Brighton 4 - 1. Billy Owen, Mike Healey, Scot Wilbur, and Robert Baird were the handlers in this one. In these first two games, the boys did a wonderful job in checking and hitting like we've never seen. To wind up the tournament they had both teams line up at the blue line, while they played, O Canada. Man was there a crowd at the Mar="" mora Arena, and right smack in the middle, was twenty two of the hardest chearing people from Port Perry you could want. They sang O Canada, and it made you feel funny inside. Anyway, the game got started and the warriers of Port Perry showed the Marmora boys what hitting was all about. Peter 'paper boy' Lane led the attack with two goals, and got supporters from hith of the day and Mike Hamilton. The final score was Port Perry 5, Marmora A The assist in these games were credited to Scot Wilbur 4, Steven McIntyre 4, Robert, Parker 2, Mike Healey 1, Paul Gibson 4, Mark Lee 1, Dennis Franssen 1, and Mike Hamilton 1. I don't know quite how to say it but Raymond Gibson our pint size net minder was out of this world, time in and time out, he frustrated the Marmora attacker and he got lots of help from Wilbur, Perigoe, Taylor and Geer back on that blue line. A wonderful job well done men. Oshawa beats Port Perry A disputed goal late in the third period plus a counter by Mike Shields gave Osha- wa Kinsmen a 5-3 exhibition victory over Port Perry Bantams at Children's Arena last Wednesday. The game was one of the most exciting at Children's Arena this winter. The game-winner was in and out of the net so fast and that's where the argument started. But Shields' goal shortly after settled the issue. Other Oshawa goals went to Peter Nagy, Barry Gor- don, Steve Young and Bill Locke. Phil Cochrane handled all the scoring for Port Perry.
