The statistics reveal little change in the overall picture of snowmobile tragedies. People are still being killed by the careless and throughtless use of snowmobiles. Patterns and fabrics were discussed and each member made a sam- ple of self Pinding for a neck- line. Any woman on the Island is interested course may join at our next meeting on Monday, Nov. 27th at 8 p.m. at Scugog Grace Church. Members are asked to bring material and pattern and be sure to shrink material and zipper if you are using one. On Wednesday, the reg- ular meeting of the W.I. was held at the Township Hall with 11 members present. Reports were heard from 5 members who had attended the W.I1.-.convention for 1 day at the Royal York, Toronto. Correspondence was read in this. and a Thank You - ftom Gloria Fralick and Marion Booth, also an invitation to attend .the Creative Block printing 4H Achievement Day in Uxbridge on Nov- ember 25th. Our motto was "Building for to-morrow on Wester- day's heritage." Mrs. Helen Redman showed us covers, paper, etc. she had pur- chased to begin our Tweeds- muir History books. Anyone with history of families, farms, school or churches pertaining to Scugog Island is_ asked to write up the history and give it to any W.I. member. Roll call was answered by naming a Governor-General of "Canada. Mrs. Redman convenor of Education and Cultural Affairs chose Gov- ernor-General Roland Mich- ener. She began with the Federal Government of Can- ada and what it consists of and 'how the Governor - General is appointed. She showed us newspaper clip- pings and gave the history of Mr. and Mrs. Michener. Reta Wilson closed the meeting with a poem '"To- day's- Modern her."
