Blackstock - 986-4283 by - law on snowmobiles The 'Ontario County roads g committee will reconsider the county's snowmobile by- 'law «with 'regard to the fownahirs, north of Highway * 7 Counc voted last week to reconsider the bylaw, passed a year ago, when represent- atives of the northern town-' ships said it created great embarrassment and hard- ship for taxpayers and police.' The bylaw prohibits the driving: of snowmobiles on county roads, and it is being strictly enforced by the Ontario Provincial Police, said Rama Reeve Wesley Stitt. Reeve Stitt said snowmo- biles were the only means of transportation when roads are blocked after a heavy snowfall and: the bylaw had * caused "a lot of trouble" in his township. He explained a sick person had to be removed from her home to hospital recently and the OPP refused touse a snowmobile for her evacua- tion because of the bylaw. He added that the snowfall was so heavy at the time that no cars could bé used on the roads, Obituary ANNIE SHUNK One of 'the oldest: resi: dents of Port Perry, Miss Annie Shunk. passed away on February 11, 1972: at Fairview Lodge, Whitby. | Ont.
