PORT PERRY Kk STAR * 'Port Perry Bantams eliminate West Rouge in three straight Friday, Feb. 11th Port Beare Bantams hosted West " Rouge for the first game of a best of five series to de- cide the Lakeshore "C" championship and scored a decisive 10-1 victory. Dave Horton and Doug Christie led the Port attack' with three goals each, Tom Olsen and Robt. Abraham each counted twice, to ac- count for the scoring. Dave Horten and' Tom Olsen each picked up five assists, with single asissts going to Doug Christie, Brett Campbell and John Kane. On Sunday, Feb, 13th the Beare Bantams travelled to West Rouge and exploded for twelve goals in defeat ing West Rouge 12-1, Tom Olsen proved the big gun in this game scor- ing four times, Doug Chris. tie notched a pair, with singles going to Rick. Port Perry earned a right into the final game by first knocking off a strong North Bay team by a 48-43 score. In this contest Jim Zoet was top scorer with 17 points and Don Sinclair and Laurie Williams had 14 each. . Port Perry's Second vic- tory en route to the final came over last year's tour- nament champs from Lon- don. With Port Perry the underdog and coming out on top by a 63-57 count, coach Arend Dekker described the effort as the 'team's finest of the season." In this game Dean Beare was top scorer with 19 points, with Jim Zoet and Jim Moore adding 18 and 13 points respectively. Invitational Black-ball was tough, with teams from North Bay, London, Peter- borough, Oshawa, Orillia, Ennistown, and Port Perry.
