Mr, Baird, son of the late James Baird and Bathaie Wallace was born July 9, 1896 at Saintfield, Ontario. He lived at his home farm, except for a short period in Oshawa, Ontario, from 1926 to 1931, until a 'heart attack enforced an early retirement in 10855. He then moved to his other farm 'and ranched it in the summer and spent the winter months in Florida until 1960, when he moved to the present residence on «Union Avenue, Port Perry. He was a member of the King Edward Lodge, No. 464 and Sunland chapter O.E.S. of Sunderland, Ontario, ~ Mr. Baird leaves his wife the former Mary Finley, . Mrs. Helen Mathieson of- fered to start things by having a luncheon at her home. Ashton attended the annual meeting of the W.M.S. of Lindsay Presbyterial at St. Andrew's Church, Lindsay, on Wednesday, January 19th, and report a good meeting. 89 ladies were in attendance.
