Mrs, De Yonge and Miss Kent who also belong to the Honeydale Women's: Institute had 'about' twelve of the ladies of that club come and give. the patients: a short program and social afternqon, First with Mrs; Toombs at the piano we all sang a couple of songs, rousing "ones as "Pack up your trou bles", then tea was served, with quantities of the most delicious cookies, all kinds. All through lunch Mrs, Toombs played soft music, and made it all very gay and enjoyable. After tea the program continued, Mrs. read three lovely 'poems from old 'school books--too recent for some of us to know. Mrs. S. Cawker (who was - Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon) and Mrs; O. - Jeffrey sang together sev- «eral times, (with Mrs, S. Ploughman 'as accompanist) - all 'grand old songs we nev- er tire of hearing--and one so funny we're laughing yet. There was a splendid read- ing by Mrs. Bryant, and Cornish' Mrs, Stone fold a joke, a gopd one. To end this happy after- noon, Mrs, Cawker had all together sing several well loved songs, two of "these being "Let the rest of the world roll by" and "0 Can- ada".
