S55 ES REA REA Lake Scugog Regatta Successful Event The Lake Scugog Annual Regatta was held on the 1st, 2nd and third day of August. The first event on the pro. gram was the gala children's parade. After the judging was completed and the prizes given out, the Miss Regatta contest was held. The winner of the Albert Putsey trophy, a prize given to the person who accumu- lates the most points during Saturday's events was won by Jim Fowler with the help of his wife Sue who was his partner in several races. The Sunday boat races had to be postponed due to the 1rough water and were fitted in between the Monday morn. ing and Monday afternoon events. The ladies' open swim was won by Joanne Wilson and the men's open by Peter Watts. The MacMillan trophy which is given to a lady with the most points for the week-end was won by Joanne Wilson, 12 years of age. The Ferguson trophy which is given to the man with most points for the week-end was won by Alec Keleones, 10 years old. The Don Pargeter Hop, presented to a man or lady with the most points for the week-end was also won by Joanne Wilson as was the Woodhouse trophy for the most points for Monday's events, This year's draw was a great success due to the hard work of the committee con. sisting of Bill Allan, Borden Cochrane and .Bill Ringham. Twenty two prizes were won by happy ticket buyers. An added feature of this year's Regatta was the sail boat race arranged by sail ing Commodore Ted Tobey. About 30 boats took part.
