Scugog Island United Church was the scene of the lovely wedding of Patricia Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Aldred to Mr. Ter- rance James Adderley, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Adder- @ ley of Port Perry. ~~ The Rev. George Teskey officiated at the double ring ceremony. The soloist Miss Debbie Griffin, aceompanied by Mrs. Edna Beckett sang, The Lord's Prayer, The Wed- # ding Prayer and 'More Than the Great Love'. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a for- mal gown of silk faille, high- lighted by an empire bodice of lace net tooled in daisies. & Her daisy headpiece was en- crusted with seed pearls and held a scalloped veil compl- imenting a sweeping chapel train sprinkled with daisies She carried a cascade of sweetheart roses encircled by daisies and trailing ivy. The maid of honour Miss Ruth Aldred, sister of the bride, the bridesmaid, Miss Susan Adderley, sister of the groom, Miss Muriel Lamont, Mrs. Gerry Lodwick were alike in formal gowns of pink crepe, scoop neckline, empire waist with white daisy trim around the waist and neck. Short puff sleeves with a wide cuff trimmed with swiss lace. They carried white baskets of Shasta daisy and ivy. Mr. Richard Stevens of #Port Perry acted as best man and the ushers were Mr. Tom Adderley, Mr. Michael Adder- ley, brothers of the groom, 'Mr. Robt. Aldred, brother of the bride, and Master James Aldred, carrying the rings. The gentlemen were all attir- ed in Azure blue jackets and dark trousers. The reception was held at the IOOF temple where the bride's mother received wear- ing lemon chiffon over taffeta with chiffon panel flowing rom the shoulder, empire waist trimmed with green velvet ribbon and embroidery, lemon accessories and a tails- 'man rose corsage, The groom's mother assist- ed wearing chiffon over taffeta wghieath in shades of aqua ite accessoriesand a corsage of pink roses. : 'During the reception the bride and groom, cut their cake with the dress sword of the late Col. Aldred, cousin and aunt of the bride, enter- tained members of the former 'Ramette' baseball team of which the bride was a member. This was a cup and saucer shower and an interesting and enjoyable 'reunion'. A dessert luncheon was served. The staff of Queen Eliz- abeth school where the bride teaches held a dinner party in her honour and a number| - of lovely gifts were received. Mrs, Cameron Aldred enter- tained at a trousseau for her daughter on Saturday, July 11 at her home. Pouring tea during the day and evening were Mrs. Ada Pearson, grand- mother of the bride, Mrs. Wm. Broadbent, Mrs. Douglas Ald- red, aunts of the bride; Miss Connie Thom, all of Oshawa. Mrs. James Adderley, mother of the groom. Miss Susan Broadbent looked after the guest book. WOTTEN On Saturday, July 18th at Blackstock United. Church Joan Marie Wotten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Wotten, Blackstock and Floyd Leslie - Argue, son of Mr. Leslie Argue, Blackstock and Mrs. Wilma Argue, Oshawa, were united in marriage by Rev. V. Parsons. Siig Soloist for the occasion was Miss Rosalie Parr. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Jean: Parr as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father. She wore a floor length white brocaded gown with a front panel of imported Belgian wedding lace, edged with ruffed lace trim, the train was made of -- ARGUE the same lace with scalloped edges. Her veil of shoulder length silk illusion was appli cued with lace flowers and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white ste- phanolas. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Joseph Stephanson, attired in a floor length A-line mint coloured moire dress. PORT PERRY STAR HOPE -- WILSON Wedding vows were exch- anged, July 4th between Jean Marie Hope and John Clifford Wilson in Prince Albert United Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Roy Hope of Prince Albert and the bridegroom the son of Mr. and Mrs, Norman Wilson also of Prince Rev. Mark Reeves officiat- ed at the double ring cere- mony. Soloist Mr. Robert Heayn was accompanied by Miss Jean Snelgrove, friend of the Rride. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of white satin styled with long sleeves and full skirt, trimmed with lace and pale coloured sequins. The detachable train accent- ed by roses at the shoulder: was trimmed with lace to] match the gown. Her three-layer, shoulder length veil of tulle with a scattering of pearls fell from a crown trimmed with rhine- stones and she carried a cas- cade of stephanotis and peach roses. Miss Susan Gray was the maid of honour with Mrs, Helen Sturman, sister of the bride and Mrs. Norma Sails- bury, friend, attended as bridesmaids. They were gowned in peach Peau de Soie, long dress in Empire style with bell sleeves. They carried white parasoles with pale yellow carnations. The Junior bridesmaid, Miss Jan- nette Sturman, niece of the bride and the flower girls, Miss Beth Hope, sister of the bride and Miss Kim Wilson, niece of the groom, were dressed in similar style in a] lighter shade of peach, carry- yellow roses. Best man was Joseph Ste. phenson, and ushers were David Wotten, Allan Argue and Thomas Wotten. Reception was held at the Christian Education Centre, Blackstock, For a wedding trip to the Bruce Peninsula, Georgian Bay, the bride wore a lime green crimplene pant suit. Prior to the wedding Joan was honoured at showers given by Mrs. Joyce Stephen. son, Miss Judy Mountjoy, and Miss Betty Bradburn. ing white baskets with yellow mums, John Salisbury acted as best man with Bruce Wilson brother of the groom and John Hope, brother of the bride, ushering. A salad dinner followed at the Prince Albert United Church served by the U.C.W. Mr. Ronald Hope was Master of Ceremonies while Mr. Leonard Hope toasted the bride. Following the dinner the reception was held at the Prince Albert Community Center, where everyone enjoy- ed the music and dancine. For a honeymoon to the Algonquin Park area the bride wore a sleeveless yellow satin dress with matching stole trimmed with pearls and white accessories and a pale green orchid corsage. The couple are now residing in Prince Albert. Mrs. Mabel Wilson, the groom's grandmother, was present as well as guests from Oakwood, Enmskillen, Maple Groves, Prince Albert, Raglan, Brooklin, Newcastle, Oshawa, Toronto, Port Perry and Greenbank.
