A NE A ETE Y FEN TESTE JSS a o a a Beg Lo or ANQe $2 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, Aug. 20, 1970 The end of the programme is now here, but the biggest event of the summer is still about to take place. On Thursday, August 20h (today) all the children of the Summer Playground are staging a Penny Carnival. We would sure appreciate your interest and support. The big event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a large par- ade which starts at the High School Parking lot, travels down the main street, then stops at the arena. It is here at 'the arena, that we are carrying on the actual Carni- val. Therefore, as soon as the parade is over, the Car- nival begins. A Penny Carnival is a fun filled event where you can play all sorts of games which are set up in booths all over the arena. We have 20 booths planned for the Car- nival -- for example the dart throw, penny toss, paper plate throw, kissing booth, haunted house, refreshment stand, and many more. We've even got a side show, which features a headless hairless dog, a spectacular water col- our show, a wild monkey, palms read and the fattest lady in the world (well al- most the fattest in the world). I just don't know how anyone PORT PERRY RECREATION COI NE] ¢ 'by Jane Liddell, Recreational 6.-8.0.6.-6-6.6-6.6-6-66 EE EOC E EE EEE EEE EEE Br can think of missing this big night. Most of the booths cost a penny to play and there are prizes if you win. The most expensive booth is 5 cents. You can't beat that price, for an evening of en- tertainment anywhere. The children have put a great deal of work into both the parade and the Carnival, so please don't let us down by not supporting us.
