P.S.C., is attending the 42nd Annual Convention of The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, being held at the Marlborough Hotel, Winni- peg, Manitoba June 24th, to 28th. * L * The office staff of Com- munity Memorial Hospital, Port Perry had dinner at the Warretal Restaurant on June 16, 1970. The occasion a farewell party in honour of Marilyn Beacock. The girls were then invited to the home of Mrs. W. Watson for entertainment and refresh- ments. We wish Marilyn all the best in the future, and know she will be missed by her fellow workers for her vivid personality, enthusiasm and efficiency. * * [J Mrs. Gwen King spent a week recently with Mr. and Mrs, Grey of Tillsonburg. Epsom News Continued their cottage. Mr. and Mrs. David Sim- monds have moved to their cottage for the summer. The "C" Cub pack from Port Perry spent the week- end at the Munro bush. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Pren- tice of Port Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Enoch McKnight called at the Munro. home one evening last week. Miss Betty Cawker of Port Perry and Mr. John Cawker of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Thorton of Port Perry called to visit with Mrs. Cawker recently. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson and family had Sunday din- ner with Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Wilson of Uxbridge. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Benns and family of Uxbridge had supper Sunday with mum and dad Card. Mr. aml Mrs. Glen Allin of Newcastle were supper guests recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson. On Sunday vening Mr. and Mrs. Mel Tindall entertained his parents and her parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Geer to a barbecue supper. On Wed. evening Mr. and Mrs. Les Card of Uxbridge visited Mr. and Mrs. A. Card and family. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Geer were Sunday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Geer of Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs, Barry Bush- ell and girls of Roxborough, Quebec are spending a week holiday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ashton and 'relatives. During the week- 'end all members of the fa- mily called to see mum and dad. ROUND THE TOWN" \ -- Thursday, June 25, 1970 A new store "The Aquarius Boutique is scheduled to open in Port Perry on Thurs- day, June 5th, in the same store as Harwood Cleaners. Mrs, Jane Goddard, Oshawa, is the proprietor and we wish her success in her new ven- ture. Scugog Shores Historical Museum will open its doors to the public for the first time on Sunday, July 5. The openingceremony has been set for 2:00 p.m. with the ribbons being cut by Mr. Grant Christ- ie, Mrs. Harry Nasmith and Mr. Stuart Nesbitt represent- ing the three municipalities of Reach, Port Perry and Scugog and by a representat- ive from the Mississauga Ind- ians on Scugog Island. The museum will be open every day except Mondays throughout the summer, from 10:00 am. - 5:00 p.m. week- days and Saturdays, and 11-7 Sundays. The museum will also be open on Civic Holiday, the first Monday in August. Admission charges will be 50¢ per adult, 25¢ for students up to the age of 16, and children 12 and under accomp- anied by parents will be admit- ted free. . Plans are well under way for setting up displays when school is out on Friday. The committee would be interest- ed in borrowing a rocking: chair made by Mr. Dunn on Scugog Island around the turn of the century, also souvenir items of World War I.
