One of the 'biggest little competitions' in Track and Field was held on Wednes- day, May 27 when CHS play- ed host to the students of Millbrook High School at the annual "BiSchool Track and Field Meet. Although the weather was cold there was keen rivalry all day with the Cartwright students accumu- lating an ever-increasing ma- jority of points. The final results gave CHS a total of 400 points and MHS a total of 246 points. So the school trophy won by Millbrook last year was. returned to Cart- wright. Cartwright made an almost clean sweep of the individual trophies as well. On election, trustees in Ontario County accept a local mandate to provide the best education possible for children in our community. This includes responsibility for staffing local schools. Agreed. Why is the Ontario 'County Board of Education not hiring? Answer: It has been instructed not to by the Ontario School Trustees' Council. 4. Is our board obligated to follow the instructions of the Toronto; based Answer: No. 5. Will our local school system sutfer next fall if the no-hiring ban is prolonged? Answer: Yes, definitely. _6. If not, then why is our board risking local education at the dictate of a Toronto-based organization and over a dispute in Metropolitan Toronto? 7. Let's ask it again: Whom do our trustees serve?
