The meeting opened with the roll call and minutes of the last meeting. Then we talked about our point system and decided to keep it the same as other years. Then Dr. Price show- ed us through the hatchery _ building. Then Mr. Hillier showed us some slides on the different types of Poul- try. The meeting was closed with the 4-H Pledge. The May meeting. of the Port Perry 4-H Calf Club was held at the farm of Mrs. Zarins. The meeting was opened with the minutes of the last meeting and the roll call. Keith Phoenix intro- duced the new assistant agri- cultural Representative for Ontario County, Mr. Jeffer- son. 'Robin Parish and Bruce Smith volunteered to repre- sent our club on a demonstra- tion team. Marian Couperthwaite vol unteered to put the exhibit in the Oshawa Fair. I Smith gave some pointers o what to look for when judg ing a class of dairy cattle. The class was judged and a few of the senior members were asked to give reasons Then the official placing was given by Keith Phoenix. Mrs. Zarins "gave a talk and an- swered questions on her feeding program. TF~ meet- ing was closed with the 4-H Pledge. Cedar Creek Mrs. Victor Larocque was in Toronto for a week with her sister, Mrs. Reta Barton, of Hamilton. Mrs. Barton's son, Larry, was critically in- jured in a car accident near Huntsville, on May 16 and is still unconscious in. Toronto General Hospital. Ieta and Martin denBoer were home from Grand Ra- pids Michigan last week. Martin, has returned to the States and Ieta is working in Toronto for the summer. Mrs. Marilyn Ouimet and son, Ivan, of South River, visited Mr. and Mrs. Norris Doherty & family last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bandy and daughters moved to Osh- awa. last week, Heather Coates of Shirley spent the week-end with Karin Cummings. Mr. and Mrs. Santeno Pal lagrossis and daughter of Oshaw visited George Kilpat- rick on Sunday. Carr and daughters and Mrs. Tobin attended a shower:in Eden in honour of Mrs. Barry Nicholls, The new Mrs, Ni- cholls is a sister of Mrs. Carr and the Carrs were attend- ants at the wedding recently. Rev. E. McNeil spent the latter part of last week at the Bay of Quinte Conference of the United Church. On Friday, May 29th Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Rutherford at- tended the convocation for the conferring of Honours Bachelor of Arts degrees on their son Allan Rutherford and his wife Christine. Mr. E. Healy, Pre- sident, extended a" welcome to all. There was no busi: ness, Fourth Wed. is for entertainment. - Those who attended enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon. Mr, Ste- wart from Mount Albert was MC. Mr. and Mrs. Rutledge of Stouffville sang duets with Mrs. Pegg as pianist. There was much laughter with the different items Mr. Stewart presented with some members taking part, he also told many funny stories. After two hours of an en- joyable program, The Queen. Mr. E. Healy thanked our guests, on behalf of all. Mr. H. Buckland thanked Mr, Stewart, presenting him with a gift on behalf of the Club. Lunch served and some play- ed cards afterwards. Two bus loads spent & day in Ottawa May 25th, left Port Perry at 8 am, anid home at 12 p.m. Good time reportéd. There are 107 members at present.
