The announcement was made recently by Lieutenant. Colonel N. M. Hall, CD, com- manding officer of The Ont- ario Regiment. The Cadet Corps is commanded by Maj- or Ronald Davies, who is a teacher at Oshawa's Vanier School. Some 45 cadets corps, some high school corps and the other sponsored open. or corps such as the Ontario Regiment 'group, compete an- nually for the Strathcona awards. Competition is bas- ed on numbers of boys en- rolled in the Corps, numbers attending and qualifying at summer camps, general pro- ficiency in training and gen- eral overall enthusiasm and esprit de corps of the unit. It is the first time that the 1913 Ontario Regiment Cadet Corps has won the Strathcona Shield.
