Mr. Ken Austin, Senior representative of Air India, was the commendator, native slides wdre shown also a travelogue on India. An India Buffet Luncheon was; served to approximately 145 guests, with the Hi-C group 'of the church serving. During the evening native folk dances by Mrs. Rina Reddi, with a native Indian lad accompanying her, per- formed 'Dance of Joy" and the '""Cathak Dance" in native costume. Prizes were won by twenty five lucky persons. The even- ing came to a close by a lively auction of travel posters. * x * The Port Perry Curling the season with a dance on Saturday evening. One hund- red and fifty members and friends enjoyed dancing to a three piece orchestra. * *x Xx Mrs. Lillian Harper was elected President of the Lad- ies Curling Club for 1970-71 season. She replaced Mrs. Dorothy Beare who has been president for the 69-70 season. * kk The first golf enthusiasts were seen at Sunny Brae Golf Club over the week-end. * * * On the request of Mrs. Marjorie McDermott, council carried a resolution to allow the Hospital Auxiliery to hold Hilltop Port High's badminton teams travelled to Midland _on Saturday to compete in "the G.B.S.S.A. tournament. The teams of Sheila Bradford and Bob Baxter, Jan Baird & ° D. Beare were successful in placing in the mixed couples division. These teams will compete further at a later date. Enough year books have now been sold to complete the order and 1869-70 year- books will be published and available in September. The annual Spring Prom will be held on May 8th. Coun- cil accepted the tender of Mr. R. McLean who submitted a total cost of $490. for material and labour.
