NOVICE ALL STARS On Sunday, March 8, Tripps travelled to Sunderland to play an exhi- bition game. Most of these boys hadn't played for a week but you wouldn't know it as they had no trouble at all beating Sunderland. Kevin Martens scored twa goals, Michael McQuade, Phil Cochrane, Kelly Reese and Danny McKee scored one each to beat Sunderland 6 to 1. On Friday night, March 13 Cedar Hill came to the local arena to play against Tripp's. They ran into a hot team and Port lost 6 to 1. Phil Coch- rane scored Port's only goal. _On Sunday, March 15th Tripp's travelled to Sunder- "land. These boys played a good checking game. Little Howie Jones was in net and the team checked and played good hockey to help him out. Kevin Marten's again scored two goals and Collin Wackett scored the other as they beat Sunderland 3 to 2. * * * PU VV VV VV VV VV VV VV VV VY VV VV VV VV VV WN MIDGET "B" On Tuesday, March 3rd, D. & D. Construction started their plavoffs against Union- ville. This was to be total goals for 2 games. D. & D. played hockey like we know they can and came out with a 4 to 3 win. Gary LeForte proved to be the big gun for D. & D. with 2 goals. Skinner and Coch- rane getting assists on both goals. Steve Tomchisin from Bronson and Campbell and Dale Bronson unassisted rounded out the scoring for D. & D. Unionville goals were scored by Craige, Fe- chuik and Ramsay. On Sunday, March 8th D. & D. went to Unionville for the second game. Once again these boys played hockey. Everyone on the team gave the best they could and it paid off for them as they came home with a 3 to 0 win. Rick Campbell scored 2 goals and Steve Tomchisin got D. & D.'s other goal. Don Waldinsperger got the shut out. Construction. They played hard and did what everyone knew they could do. They beat Mark- ham 4 to 2. Rick Campbell had a good night as he scored one goal and assisted on the other three. Dale Bronson had a goal and one assist. D. & D.s other goals were scored by Cal Cochrane and Steve Brain. shin and Roland Skinner got 'an assist each, On Friday, March 13th, D. & D. travelled to Port Hope. It proved to be unlucky for D. & D. as they played against a fired up team. They played a good game but just couldn't beat them. Port Hope won 4 to 2. Roland Skinner from Gary LeForte, Dale Bronson from Steve Tomchisin were the scorers for D, & D, This ties the round robin series at one game each. D. & D.'s next game is on Tuesday night at the local arena against Port Hope then go to Markham on Thursday. They have to win both these games to take the trophy, so how about it boys. Steve Tomchi-| Juveniles Win And Tie - Ron Jeffrey Breaks Ankle The Flamingo Juveniles are out of the play downs and have not played for a couple of weeks, but they are on the prowl again. On March 9th they travell- ed to Whithy for a' return match and came home with a 3-0 win. This was a rough and hard hitting game. But due to the good refereeing it was kept well in hand. There were 20 penalties with Whitby getting 13 and Port 7. On March 11th Unionville travelled here for a game and they went home with a 5-5 tie. Ron Jeffrey opened the scoring with Trotter assist- ing and then Rick Trotter scored with Jeffrey assisting. Then Glenn Geer scored with Bill Davidson assisting. The second period was a bad one for the locals as Ron Jeffrey through a check and came up with a broken ankle and Chip 'bone. Ron will be missed as he was a great asset to the team. ~, |. In the third period Trotter scored again with Dennis Romeril and Earl Phoenix assisting. The final tally came from Glenn Geer un- assisted. There were 12 pen- alties, 6 to Unionville and 6 to Port Perry.
