Bruce Smith won the consolation finals with Banting Memorial. On Saturday, Feb. 21st the Intermediate boys basketball team competed in a tourna- ment held at Peter Nelson High School. The boys suec- ceeded in reaching the semi- finals, but lost to Burlington Nelson who went on to win division for the second year in a row. The Intermediate boys played Uxbridge on Friday, Feb. 20th and defeated them by a score of 81 for Port to 43 for Uxbridge. Top scorers were Jody Williams with 23 points, Laurie Williams with 14 points, and Bob Merchant with 10 points. On the same day Port Perry Bantam boys defeated Uxbridge by a score of 42-30. Steve Brain with 16 points was high scorer the high school intermediate Larry Mabley, Hydro Commission manager, an ardent "fisherman appears quite pleased with his catch at Lake Simcoe recently. Thsi game was won by a score of 67 for Port to 42 for Uxbridge with Dean Beare and Brian McNab top scorers with 22 points each.
