The county has received notification from the Ontario department of highways that maximum expenditures which may be approved for road purposes this year shall not exceed $1,760,000 for con- struction - and $733,000 for maintenance. Lieutenant Colonel N.M., Hall, the. Regiment's Com- manding Officer, stated that Ontario Regiment Seeks New Recruits ed to Port Perry after 10 p.m. Prospective recruits along the route that the Regiment's vehicle will follow can be picked up also. The truck will come directly up Simcoe St., through Columbus, Raglan, past the Prince Albert side- road, to arrive in downtown Port Perry by 7:00 p.m, Returning to Oshawa, it will recruits for its ranks over the next two months. It can offer an interesting training program for young men ages 17 to 30 in a wide range of military subjects that include driving, maintenance and tact- ical training on the 'Lynx' scout vehicles and the M 113 Armoured Personnel Carriers. Members of the Regiment are paid regular army rates of ¢ pay based on one half day's pay for each evening training.
