Leonard Waltham, 38, of GM's Body Plant, Depart- ment 88, received the award recently for a suggestion to 'modify door assemblies on regular-sized - Chevrolet and Pontiac passenger cars. Mr. Waltham who received his cheque from GM presi- dent Roland S. Withers lives at R.R. #1, Brooklin, Ontario. He has worked for General Motors for 19 years. The award, the largest awarded so far in 1970, is the second maximum suggestion award made to a GM of Canada em- ployee. The last $1p 000 award was made to Ross Wil- liams, a 28-year old West Plant clerk, in June 1969. These ladies then returned to their branches to teach members- how to make hats, and I mean make hats as the saying is "from scratch." We started with a large piece of brown paper and learned how to cut a basic hat pattern, then how to ad- apt it to the shape we desir- ed.
