Mr. Ronald Deeth = guest- speaker for the evening, gave a thought provoking talk on our Country and how every-, one of us should become in- volved in keeping it one of the best places to live. He held the attention of the adult audience with his ab- sorbing topic and managed to keep the children occu- pied by having them draw pictures on their place mats of their ideas of Christmas. Both efforts were a complete success with not one peep from the small fry. Mr. Vernon has done an excellent job over the past years and wound up his term as presi- dent: with the satisfaction of seeing the new Credit Union building completed with - all expenses paid. Following the president, came reports from the di- rectors, treasurer manager, auditor, credit committee and supervisory committee. The main conclusion from all re- ports. showed a good steady ments of the operation with every phase almost doubled in the past five years. The meeting went on to unfinished business and new business with two amend- ments to the by-laws passed. Mr. Bert Grimm was appoint- ed auditor. A new rate of 5% 9, dividend was declared on shares. [Elections were held and increase in growth of all seg- $800. and to the car $1,200. the meeting was adjourned. Entertainment followed with three pipers from the Ladies Ajax Pipe Band. The children, young and old a- like were tapping their toes to the exciting sound of the Highland music as they cir- cled the audience several times, marched up and down: & piped out of the hall with their kilts a swirl. Round and Square dancing followed with music from the Harper Valley Boys. The square dancers were kept hopping to the calls of R. CHAIR The driver of the 1969 GMC truck, Ralph Wilson, 21 Shanley Street, Port Perry was knocked unconscious when the heavy Brooklin Concrete Products truck went off the road on Highway 12, near Manchester, Wednesday last week. He was taken to Port Perry Hospital for treatment. Involved in the accident was Diane Lewley, Reach Township, driving a 1963 Chevy Il.
