The A.C.W. met in the Parish hall the afternoon of Oct. 16th. A Hymn was sung and the opening service was led by Mrs, H. McLaughlin who read a Harvest Poent by Patience Strong. Mrs. C. Smith read the Scripture Les- son "from Eph. 6:12-14 and used a part of the 13th verse, 'and having done all to stand' for meditation. After reports were given it was decided to have a Sale Table at the Church Supper Oct. 25th. A letter from the Supply Dept. listed needs for the Fall Bale. It was decided to do a quilt |' for the Bale at the Nov. 20 meeting and to have all other donations in at that time for packing. Cards were signed for Canon and Mrs. Ashmore who are both in St. Joseph's Hospital, Peterborough, and for Mrs. Ira Argue who is in Bowmanville Hospital. There are 21 members and Mrs. R. Larmer is the leader with Mrs. H. McLaughlin as assist- ant. At the first meeting Susan McColl was chosen as president, the secretary will be a roving one and freasur- er is Leslie Wright. Three very interesting meetings on the - 3rd. meal have. taken place so far at the Recrea- tion Centre Blackstock. Glad to report Mrs. G. Fowler; Mrs. Ernest Larmer and Mr. Earl Dorrell all im- proving slowly in hospitals. Some from here attended the Anniversary service at Trinity church, Bowmanville Sunday morning when Dr. R. McClure was guest speaker. The Sacrament of Baptism was 'administered to Karen Leigh, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Tatchell in St. Johns Church Sunday morn- ing. Rev. Rose delivered a fitting sermon. Mr. and Mrs, Stanley Mal- colm left last week for Florida.
