Last week we reported a pleasant re-union of old friends at the Scott home when Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rutherford paid a visit. On Sunday evening the Scotts , received the sad news that Mrs. Rutherford = had been killed in a motor accident and her husband injured. Mr. and Mrs, Scott went to New Liskeard on Monday for the funeral on "Tuesday. When they return "will depend on Mr, Rutherford's condition. Mrs. Bright says they grow them tough at Seagrave. What Seagrave News is true of her father Mr. Isaiah Irwin who celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday and is still in good health, Many friends and relatives called at the Bright home during the afternoon and even- ing'to wish him well, . Mr. and Mrs, David Lloyd of Cambray spent Sunday with their daughter and her hus- band Mr, and Mrs. Jack Short, Mrs. T.M. Lowry of Lex- ington, Kentucky spent a week with her sister Mrs. Nodwell and during that time accompanied: . the Nodwell we ns family' to the marriage of their nephew in Toronto on September 20th, On Sunday Mr. and Ms. H. Honey attended the christ- ening of their grand-daughter Natalie Green in the Anglican church at Blackstock. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Honey went along too. Mr, and Mrs. Joe Lake and family of Toronto were with Mrs. Moon during the week- end and all had Sunday evening dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Elwood' Clements at Greenbank." Clifford Moon was home from Toronto too. Mr, and Mrs. Belair were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs, Jack Clarke Manchester on Saturday evening then with some other couples helped Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Short celebrate their anniversary. Mrs, Wilbert Stone is our lucky lady. She escaped with nothing worse than a bad scare when her car flipped over at Cawker's Corner. The Coxworth honeymoon- ers arrived back in time for duck-hunting. Our 62nd church anniver- sary was: quite successful, We have had larger crowds but the church was well-filled. Among the missing were the ex-citiz- ens from Port Perry. We hear they attended Mr. Irwin's PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, Oct. 2, 1969 -- 5 number and our own singers Mrs. Reg Abraham and Mr. Bruce Carr had a nice duet. birthday celebration so all is forgiven.
