Volume 104--PORT PERRY ONT., THURSDAY, SEPT. 18, 1969--~Number 47 It may not be too rapidly, ion had increased by 81 since the figures were released one year ago. The increase of 81, brings the population to an all time high of 2,827. Looking at the table and comparing the previous three years with each other, it's interesting to note that the age group 1--3 years decreased three yéars in .a row. The difference, however, between 1968 and 1969 is only one, a drop from 150 to 149. Again in the second group from 4--9 years a decrease occurs compared to the prev- ious years. Here the decrease is more prominent with a drop of 11 compared to 1968 -- The largest increase during the year occurred in the cat- egory-10--19 years from 553 in 1968 to 613 in 1969, an increase of 60 residents. The largest group of resid- ents is in the 20--59 years. However, the increase here was only 16 during the year, from 1217 in 1968 to 1233 in 1969. Senior citizens in the com- munity appear to be hail and hearty. This category has shown a steady increase dur- ing the past several years, and again shows an increase over last year by 10. _ Studying the schedule, it appears the reason for the increase in the total populat- ion is mainly due to people The beaver was featured in Canada's first postage stamp in 1851. moving into the Village, since the largest increases are in the 10--19 and 20-59 year groups. event creating the Pra interest during the month of September every year is the display of new cars in the various dealers showrooms.
