Friday; April 25, 1969, fifty- two Grade 5 and 6 Representative, greeted the children on .Dr. © students from Prince. Albert' School enjoyed a _valuable school excursion to Toronto. In the morning, the' pupils of Mrs. P. Salter and Mrs, M. Andrews. visited the Provincial Parliament Buildings as guests of Dr. M.B. Dymond, Mrs, Rowe, Public Relations, behalf. "The tour included depicting the development examples of natural resources, Dymond's Committee Rooms, - displays of government in Ontario, 'and work" from penal institutions.. Before leaving the children were. shown the award: 'winning film, "A Place to Stand". During the afternoon, at the Royal Ontario Museum, the students -received. informative lectured tours of sections which were directly related to their -work at schodl. Upon returning to-school the boys and, girls extended their learnings through many projects based on their day's adventure. Watson passed away quite suddenly: at the "home of his daughter Mrs. Dregar ~ of West Hill. The funeral conducted by Rev. E. McNeil assisted by Rev. L. Critch was at the funeral chapel in Port Perry on Satur- day. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pririce Albert. We extend sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Dregar and other friends. Frank Watson "who spent almost his entire life in Bethel district was a great worker in "Seagrave church and a 'wonder- ful neighbour. : --Mrs. Moon and Mrs. Clem- ents of Greenbank spent most of the week in Hespeler with the family of their sister Mrs. Burroughs whose son-in-law > Thomas "Robertson and his daughter Connie were killed in a tragic crossing accident on Sunday, May 11. Mrs.- Boe asked to be relieved of her duties as vice-president and leader of Unit_2. Mrs. B., Wanamaker is. carrying on for the unit but no one has offered to be 'vice-president yet. Mrs. M. Bruce agreed to work temporarily on the social = committee and -is determined to see that we have real good coffee in 'the future. " There was.a brief discus- sion regarding an' antipendid '(what's that?) for the church pulpit but choosing the design was left to the committee. - Yes there was a devotional period led by. Mrs. Cliff Short. It consisted of hymns, prayer by Mrs. Dowson, scripture read by Mrs. Scott, a Mother's Day topic by Mrs. Ken. Sturman' and a reading by Mrs. Fish- ley. The birthday bod collected $2.97 from Mrs. McNeil, Mrs, Tobin, Mrs, K. Sturman, Mrs, Harding and Mrs. Tolitz, At the close of the meeting all went . down stairs 'to eat. We are glad to hear. that Mrs. Ken Short who under- went surgery in Port Perry hospital is' doing nicely. Another = ex-citizen Ralph Reynolds is in hospital too but we know-no details yet.
