Betty Jean Hacker, Midland, was incharge of the guest book. On April 9th, 1919, Mabel Rowan and William - Steele were united in marriage in Toronto at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chafles McArthur. Attendants at the wedding were Miss Sadie McArthur, Toronto and Mr. Wesley Nestleton. Mrs, Steele was born in Cart- wright Township and Mr. 'Steele is a Scotsman, coming from Craiglea to Canada in 1910. For twenty-seven years they farmed north of Nestle- ton and in 1942 they moved to their home across from the church, Their daughter Margaret and son-in-law (Mr. and Mrs. Ron Addison) and two children live in Sydney, JOREE ANNRENE SAT. AT 1 AM. Australia, Eight years ago the. bride and groom enjoyed 4 months with their daugh- ter and family and Mrs. Ad- dison and children spent six months with her parents in 1965. The couple received many congratulatory cards & mes-. sages, telegrams from their daughter Margaret and fam- ily, | "from Pierre Trudeau, hee Minister and a plaque from Mr. Alec Carruthers, M.P.P. for Durham, Russell Honey M.P. Among the "guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wishart Reid, Fenelon Falls. 'Mrs, Reid is the only survivor .who was a guest at the wedding fifty years ago. Dr. John Craw- ford and Mrs. Crawford, Tor- onto, were also present. They have been friends of the fa- mily for a number-of years as. Mrs, Crawford and Mar- garet received their R.N. and trained together. ~ Mr. and Mrs. Steele have always been very-hospitable, They attend the United Church here.. She is also a 'member of Nestleton United Church Women and Nestle- ton Women's Institute. He is adept in the culinary art and it is unique that it was he who made the delicious wedding -cake,..
