In the fourth round the Cedar last whistle. Bill Owen was a 2 goal man, while Tim Kane scored the3rd goal. Basil McRae had the line tally for Beaverton. = - In the Championship game, Cedar Hill put up a strong game to take Oshawa 8-3. Marty Weeks and Scott Wagner each scored 3 goals with Bobby Quaile getting the other 2. For Oshawa it was Randy Galas, Garry McCullough, and Terry Gallagher for their goals. I .would at this time give a special thank you to George Lee who was the chairman of this tournament to his wife who organized the ladies to feed the boys, to all the men who acted as hosts, the Ref- rees and timekeeper and door- man, and others who worked behind the scenes. Also to Marion and Carl Luke who have been" ' great in their assistance' given to us the PPMH.A, Siling the . past Hill Boys (Scarborough) took the Oshawa Rangers by the score of 3-0. In the second round (loser play loser) and (winners play winners) the Port boys came out with determination not to be eliminated, to send Newcastle home by the score of 6-2. Peter Lane was the big gun in this game for Port, as he put in 3 goals, with Mark Lee, Scott Wilbur and Bill Owen scoring the other 3. In the next set Oshawa sent Brooklin home by the score of 5-3. The next game went into overtime to get a winner, but Beaverton put out the Oshawa Rangers by a score of 4-3. Basil McRae was the big gun for Beaverton as he scored their 4 goals. Ops Twp. went down to a bad defeat, as Cedar Hill came on strong to defeat them 14-4, but it must be said at this time that the boys from Ops Twp. never gave up and played a splendid game right to the Bowling LADIES MONDAY NIGHT BOWLING Local The Ontario Amateur Soft- ball Convention will be held Friday - Saturday and Sun- day in Sudbury. PORT PERRY ROD & GUN The regular monthly meet- ing of the Port Perry Rod & Gun Club, was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Larry Huston, on Tuesday; April 1st. q The general consensus of opinion of 'those attending the Sportsman's Show, was despite the miserable weath- er, the trip was well worth it. The Club was very pleas- ed with the turnout this year, there were only two vacant seats. We are having an excel- lent turn out of Junior Shooters, but I'm afraid the attendance of the Seniors leaves a great deal to be de- sired. Come on Seniors lets are Tuesday and Thursday nights at -the High School. The Club is endeavoring to re-activate the Fishing part of the Club, 'and new members are cordially' in- vited. That's all for now and the next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 29th. Joanne Huston BUY --- SELL L RT REAL (STATE L10-REALIOR 985-7373 Yice President and also Exe- get going.
