Fire Marshall To] Conduct Training Course For Local Fire Department The members ot the local| & fire department are about to] undertake a training course] which will be conducted by Norman Atkins of the Fire Marshall's office in Toronto. Miss Deanne Doupe of Mr. Atkins was at the fire hall on Monday evening to| set the course up with the department, On March 5, the course will get underway when Mr. Bob Billings, training officer]. for the Borough of York Fire Department will be on hand to instruct the members on outside cardiac massage, The course will cover every aspect of fire fighting and the members will take the complete course starting at the bottom. Mr. Joblin occurred Thurs., Feb. 6th at the Adam¥. Nursing Home, Port Perry. Born-on July 7, 1878 on the Isle of Wight, he was the son of John Joblin a lay preach- er in England and on Scugog Island. Mr. Joblin came to Canada with his parents in 1882 and received his Public and High School education .in Bowmanville and Oshawa. After attending Toronto Nor- mal School, he taught school before entering the Ministry of the Mathodist Church. "J. Prior.. to. his. ordination he served as a missionary teach- er at Norway House, North- ern Manitoba and Alderville, Rice Lake, Ont. During his Ministry he served the Mel- rose Charge, Bayside, Sea- grave, Rawdon and Scugog. In 1906 he was married to Flora Elgie who predeceased him in May 1950. 'Following -a heart attack in 1942, Mr. Joblin retired and movéd to Port Perry in 1945. Mr, Joblin is survived by three sons, Rev. Elgie Joblin, M.A, B.D.; Rev. Kingsley Joblin, B.A,, B.D., Th.M. D.D. .| Toronto and Rev. Fred Joblin B.A. BD, Port Credit; two daughters, Dorothy = (Mrs. Henry Westney) Pickering & Gladys, Port Perry. There are eight grandchildren.
