Happy Birthday to Miss Ruth Wilkinson who cele- brates her ninety-sixth birth- day to-day. Mr. and Mrs. G. Prentice attended a family dinner on Sunday at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Alex Noble in honour of their aunt Miss Wilkinson's Birthday. The Oct. meeting of the Women's Institute was held in Greenbank Hall on Wed. evening, Oct. 16th. Eighteen ladies answered the Roll Call which was "Something in this World that money can- not buy. Mrs, Phoenix opened the meeting with a poem "These are the Gifts I ask". The Sec. read the minutes and Mrs. R. McMillan gave the Treasurer's report. It was reported that the Sunderland W.1. people were chartering a Bus to go to the Area Con- vention in the Royal York Hotel Toronto on Nov. 7 and it would be going through Greenbank & Uxbridge, any- one wishing to go contact some of the Sunderland W.I. Ladies. A letter was read from the Harold King Farm and it was decided on to make a dona- tion of clothing later this fall. There was some discussion on Trophies to be donated to the Port Perry District High School, this was left in the hands of the committee to purchase whatever was most suitable, Mrs. A. Phoneix and Mrs. M. Beaton will hold their course on "Vegetables with a Flair" in Greenbank Hall on Nov. 12, 13 at 1.30 p.m. each day. Mrs. D. Ianson gave her re- port on 'Agric. and spoke on the different displays the W.I. Ladies had at the Fairs : Check The Label On Your Paper also the 4-H Girls. The meeting was now turned over fg the group. Mrs. G. Hunter took the Topic and spoke on "It isn't Mrs. B. McGee read a poem * Greenbank W.I. on "The Last Corn Shock". Shirley Lee read a piece on "The History of Thanks. Giving", and the meeting closed with a contest after which the Queen was sung. Lunch was served by thee group in charge, Mrs. G.
