LETTE . Sept. 23rd, 1968 The Editor, Port Perry Star, Port Perry. Dear Sir: The Port Perry Star "of * Thursday, Sept. 19th, 1968 re- cords the minutes of a re- gular Council meeting" on Tuesday, Sept. 10th, 1968. In these minutes it is re- corded - quote - "Twenty-two o letters received Re Sewers which should be read over by Council." Also quote - "Mr. J. Knox took a copy of the objections for study and suggested that if explained to the writers of . o the letters that some would withdraw their complaints." Also quote - "Mr. J. Knox on behalf of the Canadian Mitchell Associates answered various questions concerning the new proposed sewers for : « the Village of Port Perry. He stated that he would give the objections further thought so that the taxpayers might ob- tain the information request- ed". In the issue of the Port SUGAR & SPICE Continued Not these piggies. One hour after a meal that would put the fat lady in the circus} on her back for a week, they 'can be seen peering into the refrigerator. They eat from six to eight.| ¢ And when they get in, at three a.m,, they have to have a little nite-cap: half a pound of cheese and a pound of bacon and a halfloaf of bread and two cans of soup to wash it down. » Perhaps is explainable when they tell you that they often go for days, weeks, living on bologna sandwiches and coffee, chips and milk, hot dogs and pop. Sometimes nothing. Ever try that nothing? I have. I've gone for three days with nothing and then eaten so much cabbage soup it wag coming out my ears y 1] and my belly was fouching : my chin. It's not that I don't like » see young people eat heart- ily. It's just that if I want to raise pigs, I'd like to have some pork. --Toronto Telegram News Service J ' JOHN BALLARD : Lumber and | * Building Supplies New Homes, Cottages & Alterations Phone 985-7335 PORT PERRY Sm EDITOR Perry Star dated Thursday, August 15th, 1968, there was a "Notice - Village of Port Perry". I feel it incumbent on the Council to clarify if Mr, Knox on behalf of the Canadian Mitchell Associates is a re- cognized authority or official of the Ontario Municipal Board, in which case Mr. Knox would have the power to appoint a public hearing. H Mr. Knox is not an au- thority or official of the above Board, then possibly: Mr. Knox is not totally auth- orized to make decisions on behalf of the Ontario Muni- cipal Board. It must be recognized that the Sewer project is of great magnitude and that the fin- ancial expenditure is the greatest ever for Port Perry.
