SRE TEER TE LATE 6 IGreenbank News Mr. and Mrs. Archie Em- pringham and Murray return- ed home on Saturday from a visit to relatives in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. A dinner party was held at the "Werretal" last Saturday fight in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie McKnight of Leaskdale who were celebrat- ing their 35th wedding anni- versary. Local relatives at. tending the party were Mr. gnd Mrs. Fred Real, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Real and Dawn, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Real, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brandon and Mr, and Mrs. Wm, Stone. Mr. and Mrs. George Beat- on had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Beaton. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Har- per have returned from a trip to the west coast of Canada. The trip west was made via train and bus and they made the return trip by plane. Congratulations to Earl Phoneix who won the 4-H Club showmanship trophy at Lindsay Fair on September 18th. Earl and Murray Stone were 2 of the 6 Port Perry 4-H dairy calf club members who with their calves repre- sented their club at the fair. "The family of Mr. and Mrs, Robert Baird had a Sunday dinner reunion at the "Wer- retal" on September 22nd, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Real took part in the centennial celebrations of Tyrone Unit- ed Church last Sunday. Plans for the W.I. bus trip are now complete. The bus will leave Greenbank at 9.00 o'clock am. and proceed to Yorkdale shopping centre where we will be able to shop until 1 pm. Mildred Rodd read a letter from a lady in Australia who represents the "Country Wo- men" organization in Single- ton. Australia, and she had enclosed addresses of a number of their members who would like to corres- pond with women from our Institute. Reports were given by the different conveners Mrs. D. Ianson, Mrs. G. Hunter and Mrs. Mero Mrs. Grace Hunter & Mrs. Mildred Rodd agreed to at- tend the two day short cour- se which is being held in Sunderland, Oct. 8, 9 and Brougham Oct. 10, 11 on "Vegetables with a Flair".
