Rose addressed the children -- No Sunday School was held. In the United Church Rev. P. Romeril chose as the theme for his sermon--"God and the Space Age". Six young ladies, namely Misses Lorraine and Janet Turner, Linda Mountjoy, Linda Mec- Laughlin, Leanne and Hea- ther Dorrell formed the, choir and sang "Fairest Lord Jesus". Mr. Bob Smith, Toronto spent a couple of days with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and Oliver. We are all pleased to-note Bob able to be driving his car again following eye surgery. ' BANQUET The Scouts & Cubs, Fa- ther and Son Banquet was held Saturday evening April 20th in the Recreation Cen- tre and the Ladies Auxiliary and Scout Mothers catered. Chairman, Bob Wheeler called order and Grace was said by Rev. P. Romeril. Af- ter all had partaken of the bounteous dinner a toast to the Queen and the National Anthem was sung. Chairman gave a few re- marks, welcomed all and in- troduced the guest speakers, head table guests also the President and -Secretary of the O.N.O. who are the spon- soring group of the Scouts and Cubs--Mrs. Jean Mahaf- fy and Mrs. Shirley Turner and the President and Secre- tary of the Ladies Auxiliary --Jean Adams & Bernadette Keuning. . The toast to the Fathers was proposed by Bob Swain and: replied to by George Wolfe. Ivan Thompson pro- posed the toast to the boys and Dennis Malcolm replied.
