Short who pass- ed quietly away on Sunday morning. Since her hus. band's death, Mrs. Short has been in poor health and spent almost a year at a. Lindsay nursing home. By strange = coincidence Mrs. Gladys Short who 'lived as companion to the late Mrs. Short during her last months in Port Perry arrived home just last week from Manitoba where she had been visiting her daughter Mrs. Clarence Patterson. Mrs. Patterson Sr. of Edwin Manitobs and WES LANE mother of Clarence Patter- son came east at the same time and expects to Temain until midsummer. All the U.C.W. units met last week--On Mon, Unit 1 at Mpys. McNeils, on Tues. Unit 8 at Mrs. Fishleys and on Wed. Unit 2 at Mrs. Se- dores. The Monday meeting was a work affair and that unit expect to have the Osh- awa , Barbershoppers for an evening late in May. Unit 3 have a play in mind for May 11, and Unit 2 are just plan- ning more quilting and sew- ing for a needy family. Little Cheryl Standish is once again in hospital. Guests for dinner at the Roy Scott home on Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Allan Stevens of Peterbor- ough and Mr. and Mrs. Percy Butcher of Beaverton. Mrs. Bill Hilbert and son David of Hamilton spent several days last week with her parents Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Nodwell. Resolutions from the Plan- ning Board recommended that 3 lots for Mr. P. Goreski and 2 lots for Mr. C. Blake be separated subject to Council approval.
