Mrs. M. Cullen presided. Mrs: Cullen spent a few weeks with her son David in Florida. Most of the members who were on holidays South are home again, Sorry to hear of Mr. J. Bairds illness, hope he will soon be able to at- tend the activities again. Also sorry to hear one of our active members Mrs. M. Chapman is confined to hos- pital. Mrs. E. Webster is also on the sick list. Mr. John Murray joined the club at this meeting. We heartily = welcome all new members. Club membership is up to 110 now, which is splendid for Senior Citizens. Looking forward to bus trips and when weather is warmer expect to start go- ing on these much looked forward to trips. All members do their part in groups, Euchres to" make this Club a~going concern.--The- meets ing had the usual Commit- tees give their reports which were all good. Mr. Buckland treasurer gave a report as usual. Funds are good at present and groups were commended for their good work getting on Euchres twice a month all the year around. "Mrs. Patterson read an -in- vitation from the Ontario Hooking Guild to the mem- bers to attend their Rug Show to be held in Paris, Ontario. 'Also the Ritter- mere Rug Studio are giving courses in advanced hooking during May and June. Hook- ers from this Guild were in- vited to attend. g Those members, who had made hats during the two 'day "course in--March, spon- sored by Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Naples, modelled their creations which were be- coming, stylish and colour- ful. Rugs. and other crafts were displayed by members. A large colourful rug "de signed and hooked .by Mrs. Chris Hartman was unusual, Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Deyong showed attractive rugs. Mrs. J. Tripp had two lovely peti- point pictures and a hat to display. £3 Mrs. Martin showed samp- les of huck and Florentine embroidery which were much admired. A workshop to revise this old time art was planned for the June meeting, Mrs. Deyong kindly invit- ed the Guild to her home for the meeting in June.
