Hold Final Meeting 0f Season On Sunday April 21st the Port Perry Minor Hockey executive held it's last meet- ing for the '67'68 season. President Blake Gunter ex- pressed his thanks to the executive and league con- venors and tournament com- mittees etc. for their splen- did work' and co-operation given him. Blake also asked the members to think about the annual meeting May 5 and the plans to be made for next season. He also gave a few suggestions to try and produce more interest and Bowling MEN'S THURSDAY . NIGHT LEAGUE Another successful season of 5 pin bowling was com- pleted on April 18 at Cause- way Bowling Lanes by the Men's Club. John Beckett's "Don's Raiders" captured the Main Team Trophies: winning over Gary -McHugh's _: "Archer Pontiacs" . by 194 pins In the Consolation event. Tim Thomas' "Beare Motors" team came through in: 'the final .two games to win over Joe Waldinsperger's "Eden's Lucky Strikes". In the high Individual scores for the season: Jim more hockey players from Tyke on up the ranks to Midget and Juvenile. A spiirted discussion followed and out of all the views put forth there will no doubt come some progressive ideas for next season. The President was congra- tulated by the members pre- sent on the fine job done as President and was asked to consider holding office for another term. J Local Cubs Hold First Hockey Tournament On March 31st, before a good crowd of parents and interested spectators, the Cubs of Port Perry held the first of what is hoped to be an annual hockey tourna- ment. The winning goal was scored by Jay Neill with 3 minutes left to play. For the winners, Jay Neill had two goals with singles going to Dale Mec- Quade, Michael McQuade, & Lorne Johnston. For the losers, Doug Bronson showed the way with three goals and the lone goal going to David Espie. 'Inthe "first game of the Tourhament "A" Pack de- feated "B" Pack 5-3 in an- other exciting game. "A" Pack was led with a two goal performance from Jay Neill and Dale MeQuade with Lorne Johnston scoring the lone 'goal. "B" Pack's markers were scored by Den- nis Watson, Robert VanCamp and Scott Nelson. ; Honourable miention should also go to the fine officials for the games, Joe Waldins- perger and David Davidson.
