Only one car-load of six ladies made it to the U.C.W. rally at Valentia but those ladies reported a splendid meeting Late Monday afternoon Mr. Gary Twiner and Miss Sharyn Short cruising down the road from Short's Point were in- volved in a head-on collision with another car. Fortunate- ly their injuries consisted mainly of cuts and bruises but poor Sharyn will have to be quiet for a few days with stitches in her tongue. The cairn at Bethel ceme- tery has been completed and is certainly an improvement on those old monuments sitting at crazy angles. Now for a nice lawn. Another completed project is Mr. Fred Bolling's 60 ft. silo right on top of the hill. Its top must be about the highest spot in the commun- ity. Mr. and Mrs. E. Dregar of Toronto and Mrs. Ada Wat- son of Whitby were all at home with Mr. I. Watson over the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Belair were dinner guests of the Robt. Brinkman family in Port 'Wednesday in Seagrave News Perry on Sunday evening. At the same time Mr. and Mrs. Moon and Clifford were dining at the Elwood Clem: ents home at Greenbank. Thansgiving visitors at the home of Mr. & Mrs. E. Butt were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Glenney and Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Pogue of Whitby. There was a scarcity at Church 'services on Sunday too. Attendance in both cases was below average. Flowers were placed in the church in memory of Mr. Newton Dow- son, brother of Mr. Bert Dowson, who passed away in Lindsay Hospital on Mon, Oct. 2nd. We extend sym- pathy to the family. At S.S. Diane Barr and Bonnie Short sang "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam". They were unaccompanied and we can't help but wonder how fast they could sing if they were really trying. No birthdays were acknowledged this week. It is time now to start talking of Turkey Dinner.- Our regular date is the 1st November which this year turns out to be the 1st day of November. There will be no church service next Sunday on ac- count of Pinedale anniver- sary. S. S. will be at 11 as usual. room. 57 King St. East EXPO 67 FOUR SEASONS TRAVEL ARE EXCLUSIVE AGENTS FOR: CANADIANA VILLAGE, ONLY 250 yards from EXPO Grounds. $6.25 p.p. (based on party of 4).
