This Junior Plow- ing Match was sponsored by the Beaverton Junior Farm- ers and the North Ontario Plowmen's Association. The purpose of the Junior Plowing Match is to give the Junior Plowmen an oppor- tunity to receive instruction on plowing, and proper plow adjustments; and to encour- age their participation in the senior matches. The winners in the class for boys 15 years and under, Who had plowed in competi- tion before, were: 1st--Brian DeGeer, Mount Albert North Ontario Junior Plowing Match Blackwater, #1 2nd--Ron McGuckin, Mount Albert "#3 3rd--Bob Campsall, Uxbridge 4th--John Mangan, Beaverton, #2 Barry Timbers, Mount Al- bert, #3, will represent the North Ontario Plowmen's As- sociation in the Junior Inter- Branch Class; and Ron Mec- Guckin will reperesent North PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, October 5th, 1967 -- 11 Rally For Sunday School Teachers On the 11th of October and at 8 pm. in the Sunday School Hall of St. Johns Presbyterian Church there will be a Rally for Sunday School teachers -- Rev. W. Klassen of Scripture Press, Ajax is to give an illustrated talk on "The Fundamentals of Teaching". It is conceded that Mr. Klassen is an expert in this field and the meeting is open to all who are inter- ested in better teaching for the Sunday Schools. A ques- tion and answer period will make the dialogue approach mo-t instructive. Often there are people who would help with a Sunday School class if they had the "know how" and this evening is designed with that in view. The Sunday Night Forum for Bible Study got off to a good start on the 1st of Oct- ober in St. John's Church. This Sunday at 8 p.m. the subject will be--"The Unity of the Bible"--Mark's Gospel is the source of the evening talks and-any with questions are cordially invited to share them. Fall Dance At Cartwright High School On Friday evening Sept. 29th a crowd of between 80 and 90 people were welcomed to the Fall Dance, sponsored by Cartwright High School. It was a most successful ven- ture and a credit to the Gr. 9 students who were respon- sible for its organization. Branches of coloured leaves flanking the walls carried out the Fall theme of the dance. "Double Exposure" a rela- tively new orchestra, who supplemented their music with records. Special dances included spot dances won by Donna Edgerton and John Lethang, and Bonnie and Glenn Malcolm. Door prize went to Eleanor Wright. : At 11 p.m. thirsts were quenched and appetites ap- peased with pop, chips and cheesies. Chaperones for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Turn- er and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Malcolm.
