Roads were discussed in part, and, the deputation retired to meet with Council again at an early date. The next deputation Messrs. Fisher, MacGregor & Giithero representing C.L.S. R.P.A. seeking information & results of the special meet: ing at several locations at the lakeshore areas regarding surplus water. However it was unnecessary to remind Council that he had refused to pick up pas- sengers in Cartwright during part and most of the first 5 months of 1966, and that the $250 paid was the equivalent of $500 for the whole year or 259, of the total subsidy. Also while total service calls had increased by 509% he ex- pected a subsidy increase at 50c. per capita or much over 1009, from prior. To estim- ate Cartwright's share by population approx. 16.59% of the summer population for the full year and 559%, of the resident population or appro- ximately 1300 persons at 50c. or $650. was offered. This motion carried by majority. Deputations departed, Coun- cil turned to correspondence: The M. J. Fisher Plan of Subdivision was reviewed & questionnaire from Dept. an- swered. Mr. G. C. Hewson of administration in Department of Municipal Affairs having visited the office suggesting a method of establishing the area and legal boundaries of Cartwright, and having left copies of By-Laws in this re- gard, Council now approved the Clerk drawing up such By-Law to proceed with this undertaking. Motion carried. A letter from Mr. Johnston of Scugog Point asking for gravel on Armstrong Avg. was refused, on motion. The Roads Superinterde sought approval of a .new purchase price for gravel of approx. 20c. per yd. Council approved same price as Unit- ed Counties buy at. Carried. A Resolution from the Township of Michipicoten pe- titioning- the Ministers of Health and Manpower to as- sist in providing needed me- dical practitioners, in those areas of Ontario that experi- ence a dearth of same. A motion endorsing resolution, 'was carried.
