In spite of the un- settled weather a very enjoy- able afternoon was spent. Ontario North supplied the entertainment in the form of games and contests. The Centennial Train has been to Peterborough, and among those who have jour- neyed to inspect it were Mr. and Mrs. John Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Cookman, also Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot Phair, their parents and family and Jim Phoenix. Jim was proud and pleased to be allowed to blow the whistle that started the singing of "O Canada". The deep sympathy of the Community is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Brown and family in the bereave- ment of their son & brother Nick. Mr. and Mrs. George Bea- ton visited Mr. and Mrs. Dianne Carson of Green: wood is spending a few days with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Midgley. Agincourt on Sunday. Mrs. Ross Cookman and Susan attended a shower for a cousin, Miss Darlene Hill held in the church at Pleas- ant Point on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hood of Whitby visited Sunday at the home of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mec- Millan. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dobson Greenbank News David of Peterborough spent Friday with Mrs. H. Guy. Mrs. Clifford Pearson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haddon attended Memorial Services at Foster Memorial Cemetery on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bran: don have returned from a week's holiday at their cot- tage in the Haliburton dist: rict. 'Mr. and Mrs. Harold Craig spent a few days with Miss Jean Phoenix last week.
