Bal- lard Lumber Midgets did go to Willowdale on Saturday and made a fine showing. In the first game they dropped a_5-3 decision to Galt in a well played game which fea: tured good defensive ball. In the second game they lost 3-1 to Aldershot (Burling: ton) as once again top notch softball was displayed. In either game a few hits could have turned the tide for Bal- lard's. Next trip for these boys is July 22nd in Scar- boro. Ea The Minor Softball Float was displayed in the Cen- tennial Parade and although it did not win a prize it is a credit to the Association and it will be used for several years to come. To those re- sponsible for the building of the float, sponsor Ken Jack: son and the Wagon which Lloyd Fawns loaned us for two Saturdays we say a big "Thank You". Lake -Scugog Lumber Jr. ladies were the winners of the Centennial Dollars on Saturday when they defeated the Legion ladies 12-3. The second game was rained out. _ Legion Squirts will be in (July 8th) for the Annual Squirt Tournament. This will be the first time our Squirts have attended this tournament. Coach Don Bronson will be going 'Home' to try to steal away the tro- phy. Don was an executive member of the Belleville As- sociation before coming to Port Perry.
