Eighty students arrived back in town tired, but inspired by all the interesting sights they had seen. Ea acai Obituary STANCY BERNARD CONLIN The death occurred, May 19, at the Oshawa General Hospital, after an illness of four months, of Stancy Bernard Conlin, of R.R: 2, Port Perry. He was in -his 56th year. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Conlin, R.R. 2, Port Perry, the deceased was born in Reach Township. y Mr, Conlin was a member of the Immaculate Conception Ro- man Catholic . Church, Port Perry. He had worked twenty- three years at Fittings in Osh- awa. " He is survived by his parents, also three sisters, Lauretta(Mrs. Lloyd Collins) Port Perry, Mari- on of Toronto and Helen (Mrs. T. E. O'Connell) of Ottawa. Requiem High Mass was sung in St. Gregory's Roman Catho- lic Church, Oshawa at 10 a.m, Monday, May 22nd. The ser- vice was conducted by Rev. Fa- ther Wiley, followed by inter- ment in St. Gregory's Cemetery, Oshawa. Pallbearers were: Harold Con- lin, Vincent Conlin, Grant Bry- ant, Les Smith, Clare Vernon and Burnsell Webster. MRS. GEORGE H. WALKER The death occurred, May 28, at the Oshawa General Hospital, following a lengthy sickness, of Mrs. George Herman Walker, of Brooklin. She was in her 76th year. Diamond ,the deceased was a daughter of the late Peter Dia: at Claremont, she was married Nov. 15, 1916, at Myrtle Station and prior to their retirement to Brooklin two .years ago had farmed with her husband on Concession 4, Reach Township. Mrs. Walker was a member and was a member of the Unit- ed Church Women and of the Brooklin Women's Institute. Prior to moving to Brooklin she had been a member of Utica United hurch for nearly 50 years. Besides her husband, Mrs. Walker is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mansell Gerrow (Jessie) of Oshawa and Mrs. Horace Grills (Doris) of. Brook- lin and a son, Robert of Port Perry. . Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Josh Dobson (Jessie) of Manchester; a brother, Lionel Diamond of Willowdale; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Guide Mothers Auxiliary The monthly meeting was held at the Scout Hall on May 23rd with 12 members present. On July 1st, which is the day the town is having it's Centen- nial Celebration at the Lake- front, the Guide Mothers and Guides are going to operate a refreshment stand in the park. As this is going to be a very busy afternoon extra help will be needed. If any mother has an hour to spare to help with this project, please contact Mrs. Irma Lewis at 985-2347, The Brownies, Guides and Rangers are entering floats in the Centennial Parade, which will be starting at the Public School and ending at Water St. There will be a Gold Cord Presentation at the United Church on June 4th at 8 p.m. at which time Joanne Jackson and Mary Nelson will receive Gold Cords. The first Mother & Daughter Banquet (3rd Pack, 3rd Co. and Rangers) was held last. Satur- day at the Scout Hall in the form of a Pot Luck Supper, which was quite successful. The only disappointment was that a number of girls who should have been present with their mothers were absent.
