Jean opened the devotional exercises with a short reading, followed by Hymn 15, "For the Beauty of the Earth". Percilla read the Scripture and Kaye gave the lesson thoughts, "Time for Resolutions". Donovan Smith favoured with a solo, "Bless This House", accompan- ied by Bruce on the piano, and Karen rendered a piano solo. Sylvia gave a reading, "Who Plants the Seeds". Hymn 574, "The Glory of the Spring How Sweet!" was sung. The president, Janet Vernon, presided over the business. Roll call was answered by a rule for raising a family, as followed by Susanna Wesley who had nine- teen children. We were pleas- ed to hear once again from Miss Helen Parrott, a Missionary in Arabia. : Invitations to attend Seagrave Spring Tea on April 29th, and Columbus Bazaar on May 10th, were read. Final plans for our bazaar, May 10th, were complet- ed. On Wednesday, May 3rd there will be a cleaning bee at the church. Rev. Teskey closed with the benediction. Sympathy is extended to Mr. --and Mrs. Herb. Fallis and _Fa- visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Dyle Thomson and Family at Newmarket, and also, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Smurthwaite of Concord. Mr. Stan Conlin, who is a pa- tient in Oshawa General Hospi- tal, spent the week-end at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Conlin, Congratulations to Miss Bar- bara Holtby, who has been cho- sen to represent Shaw North Toronto College of Business at the National Secretaries Week, April 25th to April 30th, at O'- Sullivan Colleges Incorporated, Montreal, Quebec. Shaw Schools Limited have offered this op- portunity to one student from each of their five Colleges in Toronto, as well as, a three-day passport to Expo. Dymond's home on April 17th. The meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer repeated in uni- son. President Mrs. Dymond welcomed the 19 ladies present. Mrs. B. L. Wanamaker read the minutes of the last meeting. Notes of thanks were read from Rosemarie Brooks, Billy Field- ing and Mrs. Rice. Mrs. G. Gerrow and Mrs. S. Ploughman had visited the pa- tients at the Hospital and left plants at Easter time. Mrs. G. MacDonald will con- vene the sale of tickets on two quilts this summer and draw to be made at the Port Perry Fair. There has been a delay in delivery of the Centennial spoons for the new babies born bers to phone if they needed at Hospital this year. Owing to the big demand for these spoons orders are slow from the com- pany but each mother will be sure to get one as soon as avail- able. A letter was read from the Chamber "of Commerce and it was moved that a float be de- corated for the parade on July 1st. Mrs. G. Goode reported on the Spring Fair and asked mem- help at their booth. 'This year registration forms will be handed out and are meant to be taken home by the youngsters and signed by the parents. Registration fee this season has been set at one dollar per player or a maximum of two dollars per family. House leagues will be set up and a possible Midget league, ages 15 to 17 years. Girls will be formed in the Junior ladies age | bracket under 19 years. These forms will be passed out within the next few days and will be available at League Secretary, 50 Lilla Street.
