Lo * SEAGRAVE NEWS Did anyone notice that the first day of spring and Easter came in the same week this year --something that doesn't hap- pen often? The wise men tell us that Easter won't be at any earlier date during this century but will fall on the same date in 1978 and 1989. Saturday was moving day here. Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce & Marjorie took off for their new home on No. 7 highway with the assistance of the other members of the family and assorted neighbours. Helpers from a distance were the Ivan Bruces --of-Oakville-and- the Dal.- Clarkes of Toronto. The old place hard- ly got cold as the Virgin's fur- niture started arriving on Sun- day. Helping move Mrs. Tait to town were her daughter, Mrs. Ross Jackman of Ottawa and her nephew Mr. Ross Brown of Kedron, Mrs. Tait's home in the village has been sold to Mr. and: Mrs. Norman Robinson who are now living on the farm owned by Mr. Glenn Stewart. They and their two small child. ren will be moving very soon. Mrs. Blanche Hanvey arrived from Toronto on Wed. and is flitting up and down stairs be- tween the Eagleson's and Mrs. Tait at the Tripp apartments. On Tues. the Eaglesons enter- --tained Mr. and Mrs. Roy Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Jack MacTaggart and Mrs. Péarl Thompson. Mrs. Thonipson has been spending a few days with the MacTaggarts before returning to her home in" Rosetown, Sask. Still keeping tab on those town folk we note that Mr. and Mrs. Al. Bertrand &/Ken spent the holiday week-end in St. Therese, Que. as guests of the oldest son. Our community was disturbed to hear that Mrs. Frank Watson had fallen on Wednesday at Fairview Yodge and fractured her hip joint. She is now rest- ing comfortably in Oshawa hos- pital. Mr. and Mrs. E. Dregar of Toronto brought Mr. Watson down during the week-end and he plans to stay at home from now on. Other hospital patients were youngsters Brian---and Kevin Crosier who had tonsil opera- tions on Thursday. After church on Sunday morn- ing Mrs. Wayne Campsall in trying to keep track of her young son, lost her balance and fell on the cruch steps. At Oshawa hospital it was found she had chipped a bone of her foot. She was allowed home after treatment. . Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Wana- maker and Mr. and Mrs. Wade of Newcastle went on Friday to St. Thomas for 3 days where they attended an I.0.0.F. rally. At the same time Misses Sylvia and Nancy were visiting cousins in Fenelon Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moase & Mrs. Cora Moase were visitors with- Mr. and Mrs: Wm: Keen on| Sunday. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lake and family of Toronto with the Aubrey Moons. Also on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Storra of Gravenhurst with their son Leo and his family. Again on Sunday P.C. Fishley and his wife from Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. Rae Rahm and family of Saintfield, and Mr. Al Mac: Donald and Miss Eva Fishley of Toronto with Mrs. Bessie Fish- ley. The 4-H Girls have invited the W.I. ladies to attend their Spring Centennial Party to be held in Greenbank Hall on Mar- ch 29th at 8 p.m. Reports were heard from the different conveners present. A Hat course is being held in the Hall, Wednesday of this week under. the leadership of Mrs. Harry Pheonix and Mrs. Marie Cookman. The Summary day for these courses will be to be announced later The Topic was taken by Shir- ley Lee, Grace Hunter and Dor- is Hill. We then enjoyed a piano duet by two of our younger 'held on April 11th, The place. girls Debbie Lee and Debbie Lappin. Mrs. Marie Foster introduced our special guest of the even- ing, Mrs. Roy Cornish of Port Perry and she spoke on the lives of two of our well known poets, Pauline Johnson and Wm, H. Drummond. We enjoyed hearing several poems written by these people. Mrs. Pheonix thanked Mrs, Cornish for coming to us. Marie Foster then conducted a contest on different terms used for foods and- the meeting closed with the Queen and Institute Grace. Lunch was served by the group in charge, Grace Hunter, Shirley Lee, Marie Foster, and Doris Hill. Next month will be our ann- ual meeting, please have all reports ready for the meeting.
