I was born in Port Perry in 876 and lived on Scugog Is- land till 1905 when I married Andrew Turner of Carroll, Man. I seem to have read the Port Perry newspaper all my life and I beg to compliment you on the good copies you issue. My father W. R. Ham was reeve of Scugog for nine years in succession, so the Scugog news, also Manchester, Prince Albert, Greenbank and other news always interests me, but my sight is not very good, al- though my health is real good. I live with my family of two sons and two daughters who make me very happy and com- fortable. N With my very best wishes for your continued success, I re- main, Yours truly, Mabel Turner. ~ TR A Or RE A TE UE a a a i Fe wx 30S Fab . 4) o fy : ALE EF § FE PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, March 9th, 1967 -- 9 BL dv 4 HONEYDALE W.I. On the VW Family Blom, your wife and kids ride free. Here are some other good reasons for putting it all "behind you in a Volkswagen: (1) The Volkswagen engine is in the back of the car. It presses down on the drive wheels to give you superior traction in snow. (You can't get to Banff if you can't get out of your driveway.) (21The Volkswagen's rear- mounted engine is air- cooled. So you never buy anti-freeze. And you never tart a vacation hiring a rent-a-car because your engine block is cracked. There's nothing in-a VW engine to freeze up. Or to boil over in Acapulco.
