District Commissioner ~~ Mrs. Rene Mercier pesented Mrs. Roach with a corsage of carna- tions, and Captain Dorothy Simpson presented her with a lovely hammered aluminum tray. Mrs. Roach has been a Guider 'in Port Perry for ap- proximately 10 years, and a Division Commissioner for three years in the Scugog Division which includes the District of Uxbridge. A delicious chicken dinner was enjoyed by all pre- sent. Bovaird, was so impressed by the fine gesture of the staff, and showed her genuine love for cats by contributing a box of cat food. On behalf of the staff and the cat we extend our thanks, Mrs. Bovaird. Just before going to press on Wednesday, Mrs. Bovaird came in with another box of cat food. Eileen Jarvis won the ladies prize for croquinole, Roger Blair the men's high and Grant Kerry the low. Some lanes were badly drifted and had to be cleared before the party- goers could reach the warmth and comfort of their homes. The regular Euchre Party will be held on Friday evening March 4th. There will be a draw for the rug hooked by Mrs. Evelyn Tait. Mrs. Howard McMillan spent Wednesday in Uxbridge with her sister Mrs. Earl Howsam. Mrs. M. B. Ainsworth spent a couple of days last week with her mother, Mrs. Harry Guy. The sympathy of the Com- munity is extended to the Southerns on the death of Mr. Southern's mother, late of Sun- derland.
