Mr. and Mrs. Hughson, the former Miss Maude Brent, were married at the farm home of the bride at Raglan, Ontario, ~~ January 30, 1907. Most of their married life was spent in the Raglan, Myrtle district where Mr. Hughson was engaged in farming. They retired to their present home at Myrtle Station about 18 years ago. They have one son, Lloyd, of Toronto and one grandson, Danny. Mrs. Hughson when able was an active member of the Wo. man's Association of Myrtle United Church and the Myrtle Women's Institute. Mr. Hugh- son served several years on the church board and is a member of Mount Zion Masonic Lodge at Brooklin. Mr. and Mrs. Hughson are members of Myrtle United Church. Smilingly receiving their many-guests Mrs. Hughson wore an afternoon dress of soft rose- colored crepe with a corsage of pink carnations and silver rib- bon. Receiving with the couple was their son, Lloyd, his wife, Twila, and grandson, Danny; a sitser, Mrs. Russel Radburn (Rose) of Teronto and Mrs. Roy Moon of Raglan who was the organist on their wedding day. A sister, Mrs. Talmadge Taylor (Eva) of Vancouver was unable to be present. . The lace-covered tea table was centered. by a wedding cake, decorated in pink & white, flanked b ytall pink candles in silver holders and floral ar- rangements of pink and white carnations and chrysanthe- mums. Pouring tea were Mrs. Russel Radburn, Mrs. Lloyd Hughson and Mrs. Thelma Maybee, all of Toronto. Assisting in serving were members of Myrtle UCW and Myrtle WI and serving the cake was a niece, Mrs. Russel Lane of Oshawa. Proposing the - toast "to the bride and Pdegion of sixty the Reverentl ®William years, Patterson of Myrtle United Church, humorously recalled the wedding trip to the station when the couple set off on their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Hughson replied. ; Congratulations were received from Her Majesty Queen Eliza- FR. SE EE aa a a beth II; Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson; the Honorable John Diefenbaker; the Honorable Mi- chael Starr, MP; the Honorable John P. Robarts, prime minister of Ontario and the Honorable Matthew Dymond, MD, Ontario minister of health and welfare. There were also many greeting cards from relatives, & friends. Mr. and Mrs. Hughson receiv- ed numerous gifts including a purse of money from their fa- mily and a lamp from the com- munity. Mr. Lloyd Hughson expressed thanks to all on behalf of his parents and paid them a glow- ing tribute. Guests were present from Toronto, Enfield, Port Perry, Raglan, Brooklin and Oshawa. At this time a dainty corsage was tacked on Patricia's dress and a boutonnaire for Clayton. The honoured couple were the recipients of floral arrange- ments and numerous cards. The hours passed very quickly as dancing and reminiscing was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Love sincerely voiced appreciation for the purse of money presented to them by the group.
