IN AND OUT OF I TOWN! O.P.P. Weekly Report The Lions Club Christmas Party held last Saturday even ing at Club Annrene was indeed a success. Some 53 couples danced to the music of the Royal Ambassadors. Corsages for the ladies were donated by Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Gibson. At midnight a delightful buffet dinner was served. During the eyening Lion President Gord. Thomas pinned the Past Pres. Pin on Lion Gord Goode, who spoke very briefly. Each lady present received a gift. To those who organized the even- ing and to all Lions your ladies enjoyed this Christmas get-to- gether. . s 8 Since it is a policy in most hospitals, it has been decided to "change the visiting hours at the hospital so that there will be less congestion at any one time. Visitors will now be permit- ted to visit between the hours of 2 pm. and 8 pm, LL It is hoped that this will overcome the problem of so many visitors at any one time. Two. visitor's cards per patient will be issued from the office. . Maternity ward hours will be "from-3 p.m. until 8 p.m. '| vestigating 32 traffic accidents 1 WHITBY DETACHMENT It seems as though last week's weather was against us all the way. Officers of Whit- by O.P.P. were. kept busy in- i. which 7 persons were injur- ed and 6 drivers were charged. They partolled 14,950 miles and reported flood conditions on some local roads and hazardous driving through deep mud on some township roads. Fortun- ately this condition has greatly improved over the weekend. One hundred and five drivers were checked and of these 43, were warned and 60 charged. Faulty equipment such as lights and windshield wipers account- ed for the majority of charges last week. There were 67 general com- plaints received including sev- one armed robbery. Six inse- cure premises' were found and 10 c¢ ommercial vehicles had been left standing overnight, unlocked and with the keys in the ignition. This is an open invitation to car thieves. All drivers should make a habit of removing the keys and locking the doors whenever they leave Bulldozers From Sun SATURDAY GAME Port Perry 9 Sunderland 6 It took the Bulldozers 2 thirds of the first period to get on the right track in Sunderland Saturday night. With a score of 3-0 against them they started to work picking up 2 goals before the end of the 1st, then there was no looking back. Port who are due to lose the odd game have a great come back effort that is paying off, but it won't always work. They will have too much to make up if they persist in coasting at the start of each game. it was a great effort and an- other win for Tripp's Bulldozers Scoring for Port-- First Period: R. They were making great plays up to Sunderland's net but just could not finish them off. They were . just not making the ef- fort, and once again decided to coast their way through the game, But with 9 mins. to go in the . last period and a score of 4 to 2 against them the boys made and with the final effort pick- ed up the 3 goals needed to win. This is one way of win- ning but I feel the fans would rather see a push from the start to the finish. Still | December Tth-- in the arena Tuesday "284; G. Tassel--233; H, Heard ---224; M.
