B. Dymond Entertains Members Of Local Hospital Auxiliary At Luncheon On Monday, Dec. 12th, Presi- dent Mrs. Dymond entertained twenty-five members of the Hospital Auxiliary at a dessert luncheon at her home. Mrs. Dymond graciously welcomed her guests with special refer- ence to newly elected repre- sentatives. Mrs. A. McDermott presented the President with a pot of beautiful yellow 'mums on behalf of all the members, in appreciation of her hospital- ity and her leadership through- out the year. The business part of the meeting-opened with the Lord's Prayer repeated in unison. Mrs. B. L. Wanamaker read the minutes of the last meeting and also presented her ammual re- port "which was a lucid and heart-warming appraisal of the year's work. This will be pub- lished in full as soon as possi- ble. Mrs. Crozier gave the current financial statement and the yearly accounting, report- dited by the Rev. George Tes- key and found correct. The Doll Draw was a success as usual, bringing in over $500.00. A special letter of thanks will be sent to Mrs. Oscar Edwards who braved the elements to sell 275 books of tickets. Mrs. Manns, knitting convener, re- ported twenty pairs of bootees on hand. Seventy-one pairs were distributed during the past year. } Mrs. A McDermott gave a brief resume of the annual convention which she attended as a delegate with Mrs. Crozier. The Hospital Christmas gifts of candies, favours and servi- ettes have already been pur- chased _and will be dispensed over the holiday season: ~ Mrs. Pearl Gerrow has volunteered her services as usual. Rankin's team cleanly beat Blackstock 13- 5. The winner's goals were a- loted this way: Short with 6, Irvine 4, and Phinney with 3. The losers goals went to Mec- Laughlin with 2," Kilpatrick, | Asselstine and Lee one apiece. In- the other Bantam game McCartney defeated Heayn 8- 4. Dave Bourgeois scored three, Glen Sweetman and Danny Mec- Cartney each got 2 goals and Dale Bronson picked up 1. Doug Christie scored i lone goal for Port. The Port Pee Wees dropped West Rouge 7-b in a game at Stouffville. Neil McLaughlin and Rick Evans scored two goals each. Carnochan, Camp- bell and Heard picked up sing- les. Friday, Dec. 9th-- The Midgets were defeated b- 38 by Brooklin. Scott Kenny cleanly scoxed the hat trick for our losers. Saturday, Dec. 10th-- The: Novice Stars went down to defeat at the hands of the Uxbridge team 11-1, Doug Christie got the lone goal for our luckless Squirts Newton scored 7 of the Uxbridge goals. The Pee Wees got 4 goals in the third stanza to earn a 4--4 deadlock in. Markham. Brent Heard 2 goals, Murray Carno- chan and Rick Campbell with one apiece scored for Port. The Bantams beat Whitby 2- 1 on the latter's home ice. - Ken Irvine and Bill Davidson scored for our all-stars. Monday; Dec. 12th-- The Port Perry Midgets were defeated 7-8 by Stouffville.
