It is a boy, Parrish Martin, 7 lbs. 12 oz. Congratulations. ~The auction of the household belongings of the late Mrs. Georgina Short on Wed. was quite successful. Many arti cles were classified as antiques so brought good prices. The property was not sold as no one topped -the reserve bid. Lunch was provided by Unit 1, U.C.W. We are becoming aware that Christmas is just 6 weeks away. Plans for the season were made at the S. Si. meeting on Thurs. evening and consisted mainly of setting dates. More seriously ill is Mr. Vin- cent Otto who is in Port Perry Hospital undergoing surgery for an ailment of long stand- ing. We are glad to see that Mrs, Lloyd is recovering nicely and able to be back in her accus- tomed place. Mr. and Mrs. J. MacTaggart visited with Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Cookman in Sunderland last Sunday. They also had callers: Mr. and Mrs. Art Moase, Miss 1 Flo; MacTaggart and-J. Mead- | ows of Scarborough. Then on Thursday, they 'had a call from Mr. Geo. Shaw of Sutton. The Tobins entertained Mrs. Roy Moon of Raglan and Mr. & Mrs. Jack Bridger, Bonnie and Cathy of Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Carr's parents Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Woodville were with the Carr family on Sunday to celebrate Mrs. Smith's birth- day. Other guests were Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Tamblyn and fam- ily of Oshawa and Mr. & Mrs, Vic Bailey of Woodville. Mrs. Ada Watson of Whitby is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce. Saturday saw Mr. and Mrs. Belair in Port Perry attending the Silver Wedding celebrations of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bryant. Two young ladies from town, Misses Jill Dowson and Debbie Short spent the wéek-end with Mrs. Boe. At Sunday dinner, Mrs. Boe entertained Mr. 'and Mrs. Percy Reynolds of Scar borough and Mr. and Mrs. Wil- bert Couch and Karen. Then on that lovely afternoon she received calls from Mr. & Mrs. C. Samis and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Levitt of Bowmanville, Mr, and Mrs. Wilson Boe of Beaverton and Mrs. Ross Dowson, Janice and Wayne of Port Perry. P.C. Jimmy Fishley and his wife of Oshawa had Mrs. Bessie Fishley as their dinner guest on Sunday. Seagrave church have always been very fond of Ps. 23 al- though since Mr. McNeil's re- tirement. we have. missed . it somewhat. Not so this week. The choir sang it as an anthem. It was one of the hymns at S.S. and then 4 little girls from the Jr. class repeated it as part of the program. The small ladies taking part were Arlinne Watts, Cathy Carr, Janet Abraham &| Nancy Espie. Mr. Ken Sturman acted as Supt. and our much- publicized lad Clifford Moon presented his birthday money. On November 10th, the Ont. County Live Stock Judging Team, composed of Charles Sutter, Oshawa, R.R. 2; Michael McGriskin, Blackwater, R.R. 1, and Murray Empringham, Ux- bridge, R.R. 3, competed in the Inter-County Live Stock Judg- ing Competition at the Royal. The Ontario County team plac- ed 11th in the competition in- volving 14 counties; with only 60 points separating the Ont- ario boys from the 3rd place team. Prior to the competition, the Ontario County team had join- ed other teams in a series of judging tours held in the vari- ous counties and at Guelph.
