McMillan did not 'go to Florida as an- nounced, The father of his fellow-traveller became ill so the trip is either called off or postponed. (We don't dare say which it is).- 2. The S.S. meeting, shifted again, was not held on Monday evening at all. The week's program now is--Mon;, Tues. & Wed.--lodge, Thurs.--that S.S. meeting. 8.30 p.m. Omissions -- 1. To all- those good people who are concerned about Ken Wray's bull,--Calm yourselves. The animal has been captured. 2. One line of last week's wedding anniversaries got lost somewhere. It read "Mr. and Mrs, Ralph Reynolds 86 years married on Nov. 11th," Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Barbour on their 1st anniversary. Seagrave also has some in terest 'in two silver weddings both of which come on Tuesday Nov. 15th. The couples are Mr. and Mrs. Art Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bryant, all of Port Perry. } Mr. and Mrs. Cox who were married in Seagrave by Rev. H. G. Lester in 1941, were en- tertained at a dinner in their - honour at Conway Gardens on (reading). Sunday afternonn and present- ed with a silver-dollar tree. Twenty-eight members of the Clements family were present including Mrs. Ann Clements and Mr .and Mrs. Belair from this community. - Mr. & Mrs. Bryant are plan- ning a gathering at their home on Sat., Nov. 19th, _ This week our U.C.W, made a new record, It was the short- est regular meeting ever--just one hour and not even one mo- tion passed. Unit 1 led by Mrs. Tobin had charge of a worth- while devotional period. Those taking part were: Mrs. McNeil (prayer), Mrs. Boe (Scripture reading), Mrs. B. Dowson (Missinnary Message), Mrs. C. Hallett (topic), Mrs, Chas. Short and Mrs. J. Hal- lett (duet) and Mrs, Cliff Short The theme was Re- membrance in keeping with the date. Lunch was served. At the Dec. meeting our slate of officers will be reviewed and some vacancies filled. Any farm which has been owned by the same family for 100 years is eligible for a "Century Farm" sign. ~ On Wed. evening Mr. and Mrs, Chas. Short and Mr. and Murs. Doug Fish were at the Provin- cial Building in Lindsay to're- ceive théir signs. Mr. and Mrs. Fish were representing her paris Mr. and Mrs. Dave Beecroft. These people are 4th generation owners. About 100 signs were given out for Vic- toria county farms. If you see some weired paint- ings around ,they will be the result of an Artex demonstra- tion held at the home of Mrs. M. Bruce on Thursday evening, Also on Thursday Mr, and Mrs. S. MacFarlane entertained five of their cousins. They were:--Mrs. Frank Gibbs of Regina," Sask., Mrs. Earle Mc- Cully. of Lumsden, Sask., Mrs, E. MacDonald and Mrs, E. Bra-~ bison of Sunderland and Mrs. W. McCully of Blackwater. Miss Olive Smith of Hamden, Conn. and Miss Lylia McBrien of Brooklin were dinner guests of the Chas. Shorts one day last week. The Fred Wray family of Toronto visited at the home farm with Ken and Ida Wray on Friday and Saturay. Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bruce an family visited with Mrs. R. On Sat. night Mr. Roy Scott was a guest of honour as the representative of the 8th Bri. at a re-union dinner of The Royal Regt. of Canada, held in the Sheraton Room King Ed- ward Hotel Toronto, Sunday being a fine day, there was a slightly better than us- ual attendance at worship ser- vice and a whopping attend~ ance of 102 at S.S. The pro- gram number was by 5 small girls from the in-between class who recited Ps. 24.
