The picnie, which was co-sponsored by the Ontario County Holstein Club and the Ontario County Milk Committee, was arranged for Ontario County dairy farmers and their families. The programme began in the morning with a judging compe- tition conducted by Mr. Gerry Nelson, Holstein Fieldman for this area, A class of senior heifer calves and a class of aged cows, being the dams of the calves, were judged. The official placings were decided by a panel, consisting of several prominent Holstein breeders in the County. An added feature to the judging programme, and one which created considerable interest, was a competition to match the calves with their dams.
